Paint correction is the process of permanently removing defects from your vehicle's paintwork — swirl marks, light scratches, oxidation, haze, and water-spot etching. Unlike waxing, which only fills and hides imperfections until the next wash, correction uses machine polishers, measured compounds, and pads to level the clear coat and physically remove the damaged layer. Under direct sun, corrected paint stops looking like a spiderweb of scratches and starts reflecting like a mirror. It's also the essential prep step before a ceramic coating — because a coating locks in whatever finish sits underneath it, flaws included.

Wax is a cosmetic touch-up. A one-step polish is an improvement. Paint correction is a repair — the defects are physically removed from the clear coat and don't come back unless new damage is put in.
Measured, not guessed. Clear coat is finite — so we work with a paint depth gauge from the first panel to the last.
We inspect the paint under proper lighting and measure clear-coat thickness with a paint depth gauge — so we know exactly how much can be safely corrected before a machine ever touches the car.
Foam hand wash, then iron and tar removers dissolve the embedded brake dust, rail dust, and overspray that washing can't touch.
A clay bar pulls out the bonded contaminants that survive chemical decon, leaving the paint glass-smooth. Trim and sensitive edges are taped off to protect them.
Panel by panel, defects are levelled with the appropriate compound and pad combination, then refined to a haze-free, mirror finish — re-checking paint depth as we work.
The finish is inspected under lighting, wiped free of polishing oils, and protected with a sealant — or prepped for a ceramic coating to lock the corrected finish in for years.
Why Measurement Matters
Polishing removes clear coat — that's how correction works. Removing too much burns through the paint permanently. Measuring thickness before and during correction is what makes aggressive defect removal safe.
Correction is powerful, but it works on the clear coat — not below it. Here's what needs a different repair, and we'll tell you during inspection, not after payment.
A chip is missing paint — polishing can't put paint back. Chips need touch-up paint, and high-impact zones are better protected with PPF going forward.
The fingernail test is real: if a scratch catches, it has likely cut through the clear coat into the colour layer. That's touch-up or repaint territory — polishing it would only thin the surrounding clear coat.
Bubbling, flaking, or rusted areas are body-shop repairs. Correction restores healthy clear coat — it can't rebuild paint that's structurally gone. We'll tell you honestly during inspection.
Freshly corrected paint is the perfect canvas — and the worst thing to leave unprotected. A ceramic coating applied over corrected paint seals in the mirror finish for years, adds UV and chemical protection, and makes safe washing dramatically easier — so the swirls we removed don't come back.
